This & the Cube are the current top of the line Anbernic handhelds as of late 2024.
The 406V feels like a premium device, the buttons, d-pad, and joysticks feel superb. The android 13 software works well, feels familiar, it's like navigating my phone.
I bought this unit specifically for PS2 emulation and it doesn't disappoint. Some more demanding games may require a few tweaks, but afterwards run 95% close to the native hardware. Most games in my library play perfectly with native or 2x resolution. This is what I've been looking for in terms of performance in this price range.
The only real issue I have with the 406V is that there's no mini HDMI port. Anbernics RG35XXSP is around $55 USD and has a mini HDMI port. It's ridiculous that this device doesn't have one, it would've been awesome to have that option.
Besides that, I love this thing. It comes with a tempered glass screen protector in the box too btw.
